MIAT Mongolian Airlines was granted with an approval to become a bonded manufacturing area of Mongolian Customs for the first time in Mongolia. In the bonded manufacturing area of Mongolian customs, Mongolian airlines MIAT can fix their planes and other airlines' planes without paying import-taxes on the parts used.

This initiation was established by the Mongolian Government to support economically significant industries and to minimize time and cost derived by customs’ procedures and to enhance competitive capabilities of the industry drivers. Hence, it is a greatly significant event for not only MIAT Company, but also for the aviation industry at large. MIAT started entering international markets offering aircraft heavy maintenance services beginning from 2014, thus its import/export activities have grown a lot. 

Having fast performing logistics in aircraft component and part handling is a crucial worth and affecting the turnaround time for aircraft maintenance and repair service. For this reason, with the mitigation in customs handling process notably strengthens MIAT’s organization’s competitive advantages.
