“Rites of Spring” ballet is to be staged. Artists of Ulaanbaatar Ensemble will stage the ethno-ballet “The Rite of Spring” by famous Russian composer of the 20th century Stravinsky next weekend. The ballet will be performed for the first time with some reflection of Mongolian traditional choreography and music.

The ethno-ballet composition tells a story about a young woman who had an unfortunate destiny to die for a traditional rite. Although the ballet’s music is usually played by an ensemble of 120 musicians, “Khangarid” national orchestra with 24 musicians will play the music of the ballet to demonstrate the skills of Mongolian professional musicians.
