Mongolia and Japan signed note on additional funding for new airport project. The additional soft loan of more than 36.8 billion JPY or more than 307 million USD loan will be used for purchasing machinery and equipment, and advisory services for the completion of the "New Ulaanbaatar International Airport Project.” The new airport will have 6 jet bridges and will be capable to handle 22 aircrafts at one time and welcome up to 3 million passengers a year.

With further expansion the new Ulaanbaatar international airport will have 20 jet bridges and will be capable to handle 12 million passengers annually. In a word, a new settlement will be built in the vicinity of the new airport with modern highway and railway network.
